Jan 08,  · Fabulous album, One of the nicest Jazz/Funk LPs about, full of melodic hooks and some truly memorable guitar riffs crossing through into Funk Jazz Soul and some Latin sounding influences. Lovely lush string buildups with chilled production and percussion. For me this is Georges best set, its also his biggest hit for this reason.4/5().

  2. But I must say it was Wes Montgomery that inspired me to start palying the guitar seriously. I guess I can honestly say that JIMI HENDRIX, WES MONTGOMERY and GEORGE BENSON were the guitarist that gave me the appetite to play the guitar. I first heard the The Breezin album on vinyl and now that I have the CD I'm even more happier now/5().

Most of Breezin' is a softer-focused variation of Benson 's R&B/jazz-flavored CTI work, his guitar as assured and fluid as ever with Claus Ogerman providing the suave orchestral backdrops and his crack then-working band (including Ronnie Foster on keyboards and sparkplug Phil Upchurch on rhythm guitar) pumping up the funk element.
